Do you offer worldwide coverage?

Coverage is offered worldwide except in the few places where local restrictions apply. Our policyholders are, in the event of a claim, required to meet the cost of the recovery and return of damaged aircraft to the Robinson factory in California for assessment and/or repair. Although the geographical limits of our coverage are worldwide, we have found that the economic impact of the requirements is sometimes unacceptable to operators in certain areas of the world.

Can I have my aircraft repaired by my local service facility?

Our policyholders are, in the event of a claim, required to meet the cost of the recovery and return of damaged aircraft to the Robinson factory in California for assessment and/or repair.

Flight safety is of paramount importance to us and we feel that the RHC factory as the manufacturer is the best facility with the breadth and depth of experience necessary to fully assess the extent of any damage incurred and with the specialized equipment and skills necessary to effect repairs.

Are you a part of Robinson Helicopter Company?

We are a privately held company licensed to provide aviation insurance originally by the Government of the British Virgin Islands, and now by the Government of The Bahamas. Management is in Freeport, Bahamas and we are independent of and not owned or controlled by the Robinson Helicopter Company.

Why are you not rated?

As a private company we are not required to publish our financial statements and consequently are not rated by any of the rating agencies. We can advise that all approved claims are paid promptly and in full which can be confirmed by contacting U.S. adjuster, Mr. Jerry Wallace, at e-mail address infliteca@aol.com or directly from the Robinson factory, where most of our payments for repairs are made.

Why can’t you be contacted by phone?

We appreciate the wish to have phone contact with us but we have always refrained from publishing our phone numbers. With the wide range of time zones we service we find it facilitates our office routine to have all communication in writing, and additionally, this practise significantly reduces the risk of misunderstandings. It also greatly assists in enabling us to provide the very competitive premium rates we offer and we regret the occasional inconvenience caused.

What is Breach of Warranty coverage?

Breach of Warranty coverage is required by some lenders to protect themselves against possible breaches of some policy requirements which could otherwise invalidate coverage. Our Breach of Warranty coverage is limited to 80% of the insured value of the aircraft at the time of an incident, and any payments made to a lender under these circumstances may be recoverable by us from the insured. There is an additional premium for this coverage so it benefits the insured if it can be avoided. Many lenders are satisfied to be named solely as loss payee with either 10 or 30 days notice before cancellation of coverage.

Can liability coverage be purchased separately?

Both aircraft physical damage and insurance for liability to others are available separately.

Can a policy be cancelled?

Cancellations can be effected at the written request of the policyholder with the agreement of, or due notice given to, any recorded lien holders. Refunds are calculated in accordance with the One Year Short Rate Cancellation Table which can be found on page 11 of the policy. The Delivery/Ferry Flight Policy cannot be cancelled.

PathfinderCompass-TINY.png

Can a policy be transferred upon the sale of an aircraft?

All policies are aircraft specific and no exchanges or transfers of aircraft are possible. In such circumstances the existing policy must be cancelled and a new one applied for by the new owner.
